Practice Framework
As a Mental Health Social Worker and Family Therapist, my practice is influenced by my Systemic Family Therapy Framework, which means I appreciate the importance of getting to know the whole person, understanding relationships, contextual factors (different aspects of a person's life and history), and how people come to understand their situation and make meaning of the things that have happened in life. These things are generally related and important whether I am working with individuals, couples or families.
I draw from different schools of Family Therapy (e.g., Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Milan Systemic Psychotherapy, Bowen Family Systems, Structural Family Therapy), and integrate other evidence-based interventions to provide an individualized tailored approach.
In line with contemporary practice, I incorporate a variety of other psychological approaches when relevant to the presenting problem. These include:

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
Play Therapy
Somatic Interventions
Creative Therapies
Culturally sensitive
Trauma-Informed Care
